Sheriff of
Rockingham County / City of Harrisonburg
Sheriff Farley
was first elected in 1995 and took office on January 1, 1996. He was re-elected in 1999,
2003 and
2007.
Prior to becoming
sheriff, he served 13 years as a police officer at the Harrisonburg
Police Department, where he became the departments first DARE
program officer. While there, he attained the rank of
sergeant.
Before entering
law enforcement, he served in the United States Navy.
Sheriff Farley is
the 65th Sheriff of Rockingham County.
